KaDy Students secured a quarter-final spot well in advance, with one group game left, through a comfortable defeat of Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration.
KaDy got off to a flying start as Teemu Pulkkinen scored in the first minute. Followed by two goals through team captain and birthday-boy Mikko Kytölä, KaDy strolled to a convincing win. The Norwegians could only embellish the numbers in the dying seconds of the game. The final score was thus 3-1 (2-0).
Due to its place among the best eight teams of the tournament, KaDy has already equalled the Finnish record for the best placing in the European Championships, set by FC Johtajat (the University of Tampere).
In the last group game that determines the group winner, KaDy will face Slovyansk State Pedagogical University from Ukraine, probably the toughest opponent so far. The match will be played on Wednesday.
